PCR Tests

As of 31 August 2022, PCRs will only be offered for the following:

  • You require a PCR test prior to travelling to the UK for Manx Care funded treatment – these PCR tests can be booked via 111
  • For some individuals who are actively receiving Rheumatology treatment as part of their care pathway – these tests are organised by your treatment team

Travel-related PCR testing is no longer available through Manx Care, but may be available through a private entity on the Island, online, or can be booked through most major UK airports.

If you are undergoing treatment by Manx Care that requires a COVID-19 test, they will arrange it for you.

There are two COVID 19 tests run by Manx Care; being PCR and TMA. Both are forms of Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAAT). NAAT is a term that covers several types of tests for viral diagnostic of SARS-CoV-2.

You should receive your test result within 24 hours of testing by email.
