Southern Befrienders provides companionship to older people in the south of the island who feel alone, isolated or vulnerable. Our volunteer befrienders visit people in their own homes and are happy to stay in for a cuppa and a chat or go out and about with members. Our friendly, group social activities are held every week and include bingo, lunches at local pubs and restaurants, film afternoons, crafts, trips to places of interest, and a group just for gentlemen to enjoy a pint and a toastie at the local pub. Referral is easy, just a phone call or email, and people can refer themselves. |
