An all-Island speed limit of 40mph will be introduced from midnight tonight as the Isle of Man Government continues to put measures in place to ensure that Noble’s Hospital does not become overwhelmed during the coronavirus pandemic.

The move is designed to minimise the risk of accidents leading to bed spaces being occupied as the Island’s health service plans for a spike in the number of people needing hospital treatment.

Drivers should observe 30mph and 20mph limits as they are currently required to do.

Signs will not be replaced to reflect these temporary measures and drivers are asked to be responsible for the good of the community during this difficult and unprecedented time.
